Share the record, not the keys to everything. Live

Bring your managers, farmhands, vet and accountant onto one record — each seeing exactly the properties and the powers they should, with a separate control over who can see the money.

A shared record is only safe if it isn’t all-or-nothing. A station manager should run their station without touching head office; a contractor should log stock work without seeing the company’s margins; your accountant should read the books without being able to move an animal. Livestock Library’s team model is built for exactly that.

Two independent dials control access. Role decides what kind of work a person can do. Property scope decides which blocks they can do it on. On top of both sits a separate switch for financial visibility, because “can run the stock” and “can see the dollars” are genuinely different questions.

How it works

Invite, scope, done.

01

Invite

Send an invite with a role and the properties that person should reach. They set their own password; you never handle it.

02

Scope

Grant access property by property. A manager gets their station; the owner gets everything; a contractor gets just where they work.

03

Adjust or revoke

Change someone’s role or properties, or remove them, any time. Access updates immediately across the app and the field app.

The roles

  • Owner — full control across every property, including managing the team and the books. The only role that can manage other people.
  • Manager — runs the operation day to day: all stock work, compliance, and the financials, across the properties they’re given.
  • Farmhand — does the stock work — muster, treat, weigh, move — on their properties, without access to the financial side.
  • Vet — records and reviews animal-health work on the properties they attend, without the books.
  • Accountant (read-only) — reads the financials and exports, and changes nothing else. The books without the crush.

Scoped to the properties they work

Access is granted per property. Give a station manager their station and that’s all they see — the roll-up, the mobs, the jobs, the books for that block, and nothing from the others. Owners, managers and your accountant can be given the whole operation; a farmhand or contractor can be pinned to a single block. Try to reach a property you weren’t granted and it simply isn’t there — the platform behaves as if it doesn’t exist for you, rather than teasing you with a locked door.

A separate control for the money

Financial visibility is its own switch, not a side-effect of a role. Owners, managers and your accountant can see the financial screens — settlements, costs, gross margin, the trading statement and valuations — and only owners and managers can record money. Farmhands and vets use the very same app for stock work and never see the dollars, on the web or on their phone. When a farmhand’s device syncs, the money records simply aren’t in the payload — they’re not hidden in the interface, they never leave the server.

Enforced everywhere, not just in the menu

These controls aren’t a matter of hiding buttons. Every screen, every report, every field-app sync and every question put to the AI assistant is checked against the person’s role and property scope on the server. The assistant can only ever answer from the records that person is allowed to see. Access is the real boundary, enforced at the source.

Security by design

A person trying to reach a property or a record they haven’t been granted gets a “not found”, never a revealing “forbidden” — the system doesn’t confirm what it won’t show you. Access is enforced on the server, in every path.
