Compliance & movements

NLIS transfers, NVDs and withholding — built in. Live

Every movement of stock on and off the place is a compliance event. Livestock Library treats it that way — PIC to PIC, the tags that moved, the withholding position, and paperwork you can stand behind at an audit.

Compliance isn’t a module you bolt on at tax time. It’s a by-product of recording your stock properly through the year. Log the treatments as you do them and the withholding clock is already running; move a mob and the transfer is already shaped for NLIS. When it’s time to consign, the paperwork draws from records you’ve been keeping all along.

Movements are the backbone. Each one records the property it left and the property it went to by PIC, the animals or mob that moved, and when it actually happened. The PIC is snapshotted as text at the moment of the movement, so renaming a property next year never rewrites the compliance history of a movement that already occurred.

How it works

From the crush to a clean audit trail.

01

Record as you go

Treatments, movements and identification are logged in the yards. The withholding period on a treatment starts the clock automatically.

02

Know before you move

Before you consign, a check tells you which animals are still in withholding or export interval — so nothing goes on a truck it shouldn’t.

03

Sign and freeze

Movement paperwork is drafted from your records; you review and sign. The signed document is frozen exactly as issued.

NLIS and PIC transfers

Moving stock between properties or off to sale is recorded as an NLIS-shaped transfer: the source and destination PICs, the tags involved, and the date. Because the tags are already in the system as individual or mob members, the transfer is built from what you already have rather than re-keyed.

Withholding periods, computed not guessed

When you log a treatment, the withholding period (WHP) and export slaughter interval (ESI) are calculated by code from the product and the date — not estimated by a person or a chatbot. The result is a clear-from date on every affected animal, and a plain warning if you try to consign a beast before it’s clear. This is the single most expensive mistake a compliance system can prevent, so it’s done deterministically.

eNVD-style vendor paperwork

Consignment paperwork is drafted in the shape of a National Vendor Declaration from your own records — the mob, the tags, the PICs, the treatment and withholding position. You always remain the vendor who reviews and signs; nothing is auto-submitted on your behalf. Live two-way integration with the national eNVD system is a fast-follow once that access is in place; until then, the drafted document stands in for the paper workflow you use today.

Nothing overwritten, ever

Records are insert-only. If you got something wrong, the fix is a new, traceable correction entry that points back to the original — never an in-place edit that quietly rewrites the past. That’s exactly how an NLIS or PIC audit expects history to read, and it means a document you signed last season can’t be silently changed by an edit you make this season.

You always sign

The assistant can draft the paperwork and the maths, but you are always the vendor who reviews and approves. Livestock Library never files a compliance document on its own.
